REGISTER OF MERCHANT TAYLORS' SCHOOL by REV. C J ROBINSON, M.A. VOL I 1562-1699; VOL II 1699 - 1874 EX-LIBRARY

Two ex- Bromley Libraries volumes with the usual bookplate, numbers, stamps, writing and barcode on various pages and ends of spine of each book. Registers of the Scholars admitted into the Merchant Taylors' School compiled by authentic sources and edited with biographical notices. Printed and published for the Editor by Farncombe & Co. Lewes in 1882 and 1883.

Both books have chipped edges at ends of the spines. Gold gilt on top endpapers, and lettering on front covers and spines. Library reference letters/numbers painted in white ink at base of the spines. Corners of each cover are knocked and curled with shelf wear to all hard covers, fronts and backs.

A previous owner has written crosses in some of the margins in Volume II

391 pages including index, plus Appenda and Advertisement on last two pages in Volume I

447 pages including index, plus advertisements on last page in Volume II

Some minor foxing on a few papers but otherwise the books are in very good condition for their age.
