Due to the extreme weather, shrinking harvests, changing trade policies and rising production costs my coffee and tea suppliers have had to increase their costs. Unfortunately this means I am now having to increase the price of some of my packs of coffees and teas also.

Hi I'm Matt. Welcome to my Daily Grind 'Beans, Leaves and Books' website.

I sell heat sealed packs of quality gourmet coffee, whole or ground, loose leaf teas and plastic free, biodegradable tea bags, plus second-hand books and Ephemera at Farmers' Markets, Book Fairs plus Antique and Collectibles Fairs in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

How I started

Having an interest in the different varieties of coffee beans, standard to rare and exotic coffees from around the world, I started up the Daily Grind Coffee Shop in August 2012 within a small area in my parents’ shop in the Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells. Having Asperger's it allowed me to have the confidence to start up a business of my own but with the support of my parents. I sold whole coffee beans and ground them to my customers' requirements. Eventually I introduced a variety of loose leaf teas to my products. My unique selling point was selling quality gourmet coffee beans and teas within the setting of a second-hand Book Shop. When the lease came to an end, and with the continued help of my parents, I rented a small shop selling the coffees and teas as before and also second-hand books in the village of Goudhurst, Kent (until 2017), as well as online. Unfortunately footfall was poor and therefore I decided to close the shop.

Selling at Farmers' Markets and Book Fairs

So, no longer being in retail, I decided to continue my business at local Farmers' Markets in Kent and Sussex. This has enabled me to meet a lot more people. I have continually introduced new coffees and teas to my stock and to supply those products that are enjoyed by my customers. I also sell second-hand books and ephemera at Book Fairs in Lewes, Tenterden, and Tunbridge Wells Antiques and Collectibles Fair. At the monthly Wadhurst Farmers' Market I also sell hot drinks of coffee and tea from the Kitchen.

My other interests

Playing my guitars, reading, writing stories and trying my hand at various arts and crafts. As well as continuing selling the coffees and teas I hope to sell some of my Wax Artwork at markets, at Made By Kent and on this site later this year.
