The hardcover is in good condition but the dustjacket has shelf wear and is torn at the top and bottom of the front sleeve, and sellotaped at both ends of the spine. A previous owner has written the name of Anna Neagle in pencil within brackets on the first page above that of Anna Neagle's signature written in ink. The inside pages are clean and clear.
The autobiography inside sleeve states that "some of the book's richest moments are those in which he comes to grips with the universal problem of old age, and struggles towards a philosophy for his remaining years".
I'm afraid I don't know the circumstances as to why Anna Neagle signed the book
