GEORGE GUTHRIE Soldier and pioneer surgeon by RAYMOND HURT 1st Edition 2008

Illustrated hardback - condition as new. Published by the Royal Society of Medicine Press Ltd, UK 2008. No dust jacket.

A very clean copy with a faint 'line mark' on back cover due to shelf wear (only seen when light shines on cover). A fascinating story of George Guthrie's life from his early qualification as a surgeon to his death in 1856. It describes his army and civilian careers, including some interesting case histories and experience in the Peninsular War.
